The celebrations of UFC 290 still go on. Alexander Volkanovski sent shockwaves throughout the featherweight division when he flatlined Yair Rodriguez. The spectacular win left many in awe, including Myles O’Neal, the son of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Soon, the adrenaline-filled evening transitioned to a bewildering champions-studded party.

While ‘The Great’ was at the epicenter of the attention, he was not the sole champion. His training partner and middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, joined the fray. Their fellow welterweight kingpin Leon Edwards joined the UFC duo. The NBA fraternity also had ample representation as Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, the recently crowned NBA champions, also joined the festivities. In addition, Claressa Shields and Devin Haney filled in for the boxing community. However, the presence of ‘The Dream’ didn’t sit well with the fans.

A night of champions- Alexander Volkanovski and the sham Devin Haney?

The Australian fighter gave fans the first peek into what went into the party. Previously, ‘Stylebender’ had disclosed some footage where ‘DJ Diesel’ Shaq made the night memorable.

The 34-year-old champion gave a glimpse into the night as he shared the picture with ‘Rocky’, Haney, and Shields. He also had an apt caption in the store as he wrote, “Champ sh*t only 🏆”.

However, the fans believe the American boxer has a dubious claim to the title of champion. Notably, he recently traded blows with Vasiliy Lomachenko for the WBC lightweight crown on May 20, at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

While the 24-year-old claimed a victory as he swept the judges’ scorecards, the decision was hotly debated. Many felt Lomachenko had done enough to win. But in the end, Haney defended his world titles and also safeguarded his unblemished record of 30-0.

How did the fans react to the presence of Haney?

The fans contested whether Haney belonged with his fellow champions in the frame. And most of them had a negative response.
