Michael Jai White had a lot to say about the Tyson Fury fight in a recent interview. Also, on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience the host and Francis Ngannou discussed the fight at length along with other things. Ngannou even went as far ahead as to allege that Fury used tampered gloves during his fights to make the opponents hurt more. However, messed up gloves or not, Jai White believes that ‘The Gypsy King’ will still reign supreme.

The actor and martial artist gave his two cents about the whole ordeal. Ngannou is transitioning from MMA to boxing. Now, it’s all about his fists and his movement and he will be in the ring with one of the greatest contemporaries. Jai White knew what he was speaking about and drew some interesting comparisons.

Michael Jai White’s enthusiasm for combat sports is not unknown to anyone. He’s made films that portray his sheer physical capacity on the screen but behind it, he’s still a genius. In a recent conversation with Vlad TV, the star took apart the idea of Ngannou winning over Fury piece by piece.

“Oh I hate to say it out loud man,” he started. “Tyson Fury has footwork. He’s a tall man with footwork. That’s hard to beat. There was a man named Muhammad Ali who was a tall man with footwork. You know how hard it is to hit a guy like that?”

Tyson Fury stands at a behemoth height of six foot nine inches. The man is an absolute beast and has great reach. Clubbing that up to his boxing experience just turns the odds in his favor. While Ngannou is a brilliant fighter all around, he still has never boxed professionally. Things might just get tricky for a six-foot-four Ngannou.

“Fury has been doing this since he was a child,” Jai White said. “Get your money Francis.” The remark is obviously because Ngannou is making a lot of money from the PFL. Especially if one were to compare how much he used to make at the UFC. The fighter has allegedly been offered $10 million for the Fury fight in Riyadh.

However, Jai White suggests that ‘The Predator’ might be taking home just the money and not the victory. On one of his podcast episodes, Joe Rogan recalled the time Ngannou knocked out Alistair Overeem and said that landing the same punch on Fury is “going to be real fu*king hard.”

‘The Gypsy King’ has only one blemish on his near-flawless record which is when his fight against Deontay Wilder ended in a draw in 2018. This means his current record stands at  33-0-1. He then managed to defeat Wilder twice on two separate occasions. The fighter is well known for being tough as rocks and having great power behind every single one of his punches. If there’s one man who can match his power, it’s Ngannou.

However, fans, just like Jai White suspect that power may not be enough. In the end, Fury has so much more experience and a great reach advantage. Ngannou will also be forced to punch above him since Fury is a bit taller and that could put him on a knife’s edge.

Ngannou has had a great career at the UFC right until he messed up his knee ligaments. He still managed to claim a victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. Now his knee has recovered well, but could it put him at a disadvantage? There’s only one day and one time to find out- 28th October, the fight goes live in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
