UFC megastar Conor McGregor is in the headlines again. He recently responded to a former WBC, IBF, and WBA super middleweight boxing champion, Carl Froch, claiming to be able to take on the Irishman inside the octagon. Carl Froch recently posted a video on his YouTube channel, discussing who would win in a boxing fight between McGregor and social media influencer, Jake Paul.
He chose ‘The Problem Child’ to emerge victorious due to his more considerable stature. But he also mentioned that he would easily take on ‘Notorious’ inside the eight-sided cage.

Carl Froch recently claimed he was willing to fight the former UFC two-division champion during a Q&A session on his YouTube channel, ‘Froch on Fighting’. He said, “McGregor might give me a few small problems, but he’s too small.”
The former super middleweight champion believes he could easily take on Conor McGregor due to the substantial size difference between the two combat sports athletes. He said, “I’d fight Conor McGregor in the cage [octagon]. I could be getting myself in trouble here or into a position I can’t wiggle out of, but I think I’d take him on in the cage. He’s too small.” Froch also mentioned that if the fight with McGregor takes place inside the octagon, then he might consider training harder.
McGregor’s response to the former boxing champion
It didn’t take much time for ‘The Notorious’ to take notice of Carl Froch’s comments on social media. MMA reporter Michael Benson shared a tweet regarding what Froch had to say in his YouTube video, to which McGregor shared a reaction. He wrote: “Eddie Hearn, get this signed up lad.”

Conor McGregor has urged boxing promoter Eddie Hearn to book a match between him and the former boxing world champion. However, it doesn’t look like they will be fighting anytime soon.
Carl Froch will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame while ‘Mystic Mac’ is gearing up for his UFC comeback fight against Michael Chandler. But if both fighters decided to do a crossover boxing or an MMA event, it will surely help garner a lot of money, considering the success of McGregor’s crossover boxing match with Floyd Mayweather.
