Francis Ngannou is perhaps the biggest MMA star the PFL has right now. But will we ever actually see him fight in the cage again? Ngannou famously took on the challenge to make his boxing debut against Tyson Fury and he gave Fury a hard time.

An MMA bout has also been in the talks between Ngannou and Renan Ferreira who recently secured a win over Ryan Bader in the recent PFL vs Bellator event. However, before Ngannou gets to it, he has other business to finish inside the ring. Will he ever really leave the ring? Here’s what this former champ thinks.

Francis Ngannou shocked both Tyson Fury and the whole world when he proved his might in the sport of boxing. He lost that bout, but it could not have been closer. Now, he’s about to fight Anthony Joshua in Riyadh. However, he could also be up for an MMA bout soon after.

After Renan Ferreira secured his win over Bader, he was quick to call out ‘The Predator’ who has also shown interest in fighting in the cage once again. But Joe Rogan’s friend and former UFC fighter, Brendan Schaub is certain that we won’t see Francis Ngannou in the cage again.

“Here’s my guess, if I’m a betting man, you never see Francis fight MMA ever again,” said Schaub in a recent conversation. “He’s never fighting (in) the PFL. That’s not happening. He’s gonna fight Anthony Joshua and there’s other big boxing matches out there for him. The days of MMA are over for Francis. It doesn’t make sense. Renan Ferreira, yeah he beat Ryan Bader that pay-per-view ain’t sh*t. . . what’s in it for Francis?”

Schaub certainly makes a good point. He also calls Francis Ngannou a prize fighter later in the conversation. The fighter is making millions upon millions now that he’s in the PFL. And boxing reportedly pays him at least $10 million per fight, so will he fight in the cage? Not when he has so many options.

Brendan Schaub also pointed out how Francis Ngannou can do a lot more with his boxing career and make a lot of money. Currently, he’s going up against Anthony Joshua. There are still other boxers in the heavyweight class that he can battle after the Joshua fight.

‘The Predator’ can still take on Deontay Wilder after he fights Joshua. Of course, it all depends on how this fight against Joshua goes. Ngannou was able to deliver a toe-to-toe contest against Fury but will that be the case with Joshua?

This also brings the interesting point of a rematch against Fury. Since the fight was close, perhaps a rematch is in order to really decide who is the better of the two. If Ngannou gets a second opportunity, will he be able to secure the victory via knockout this time?
