Francis Ngannou is living the life that he dreamed of – being a professional fighter. He’s indeed one of the most popular combat sports athletes of this generation, and that warrants a hefty payday as well. Only months back, Ngannou went toe-to-toe against British boxing star Anthony Joshua, and although he didn’t win, reports claimed that he made some serious bucks, or did he? Well, ‘The Predator’ recently painted the whole picture of what went down after the fight.
When Francis Ngannou took a sabbatical from MMA to venture into boxing, Dana White did not rate his chances of making it in the boxing world. However, the Cameroonian-French flipped the script on the UFC CEO wrong, making a significant impact on his debut against Tyson Fury. Regardless, Ngannou lost that fight just like he did against Anthony Joshua in his second outing, but reports claimed that his second fight made him over $20 million. Unfortunately, that did not turn out to be the truth.

Francis Ngannou never made as much money as he did in a single boxing fight during his whole tenure in Dana White’s promotion. If you need any proof about that, several reports are there as evidence to confirm that. When he fought ‘The Gypsy King’, ‘The Predator’ pocketed $10 million. Things blossomed in his next fight against Anthony Joshua, where he was touted to have made double the amount he made against Tyson Fury. But $20 million wasn’t what Ngannou made that night.
“I don’t know [because] I haven’t counted yet [laughs]. I can’t say if it’s true, but it’s not true [making $20 million]. Yeah [earned a lot of money],” Francis Ngannou revealed on ‘The Diary of CEO’ podcast. Despite not making the reported sum, he is still living a pretty comfortable life, making loads of money, given the tough journey he’s had, moving from Africa to Europe to make his dream happen. However, Ngannou still doesn’t think money changes anything.
“What is life-changing [amount]?… You give $10 million to somebody, it’s just another $10 million and he won’t change anything in his life. And, you give $1,000 to somebody [else], he changes his life [or] he saves his life,” Francis Ngannou added.
Boxing has now become a second professional venture for Francis Ngannou. The man’s landed a spot in the WBC rankings, and 27th is his current rank. But now, it’s time to revert to some MMA action! Ngannou is now preparing for a big heavyweight clash inside the PFL Smart Cage.

But what fans don’t know is that there is another heavyweight beast who’s waiting for ‘The Predator’. Renan Ferreira, who defeated Ryan Bader in his last fight, will be the Cameroonian-French behemoth’s first PFL adversary. When Francis Ngannou recently dropped by Joe Rogan‘s podcast studio, the host was left in awe of Renan Ferreira, warning the former UFC champion about the dangers of the Brazilian’s skills. “He’s dangerous, he’s legit… He’s a big dude too. Very athletic, fast,” Rogan told Ngannou on the JRE podcast. It remains to be seen how things go down when the former UFC champion locks horns against the former PFL champion.
