Ngannou was surprised that he didn’t take the victory home. And he wasn’t the only one. The ten-round boxing match had many shocks and surprises planned for the fighter and the people watching it. In the end, the split-decision victory went to Tyson Fury.
Ngannou told ESPN MMA how he had a lot to learn from the fight. While he started out his career with the desire to be a professional boxer, the sport is still new to him. Perhaps, going forward we can see an even more efficient and powerful Ngannou. More importantly, this means that the fighter is not done with boxing just yet.
“Right now, I have a deal with PFL. I’m intending to fight MMA again,” Ngannou said. “…I still love it and I might do some MMA fights but I’m still going to do boxing like I never intend to just step over, do one fight and go out, that wasn’t the plan at all. Never. So the plan is still the same.”
Ngannou has pretty much sealed the deal on his career. His plan is set in stone and he will see to it that it finds justice. And with PFL, his possibilities are endless.

After the fight was over, a lot of people wanted updates from Team Ngannou. ‘The Predator’s’ coach, Dewey Cooper informed fans about Ngannou’s state in the boxing world. He told everyone about how Ngannou was being considered for the top ten heavyweight rankings.
“Mauricio Sulaiman, president of WBC said he’s gonna rank him in the top ten,” said Cooper. “Because he’s better than most of the heavyweights in the top ten.”

With that, Cooper promised that we’ll see Ngannou “again”. And even the fighter later reiterated his coach’s words. So the only questions that need to be asked now are, was Fury winning the fight fair? And when will we see Ngannou again? Perhaps he will call for a rematch to settle the debate between him and Fury once and for all. Fans can certainly not wait for a rematch if it’s on the table.
