The boxing bout between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather was nothing but a fight between champions. While the showdown didn’t fail to entertain the crowd, it left the MMA fans disappointed after McGregor faced defeat. But apparently, ‘Money’ predicted his moves and stood true to them.
A few days ago, on Mike Tyson’s talk show, ‘Hotboxin’’ the famed sports personality Stephen A. Smith revealed a conversation that he had with Mayweather, before his fight with the former UFC double champion. ‘Money’ predicted how he would end the fight against McGregor, and the outcome indeed surprised Smith.

During the conversation with Tyson, the TV personality stumbled upon the half-decade-old fight between McGregor and Mayweather. However, he had some secrets in store. He revealed that before the fight; he visited the boxer and had a chat with him. Recollecting the conversation, Smith revealed that Mayweather predicted exactly how he would defeat ‘The Notorious’.
“He says, ‘I’m gonna walk right into him and stay in his chest. He’s gonna have to push me off in order to throw his punches.’ He said he’s gonna be circling the ring. He said by round 4 or 5, he’s not gonna have any legs. He’s gonna be done. And he said, ‘I’ll just toy with him and keep him around until around 8th or 9th round.’ And that is exactly what Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather did. He told me exactly what he was gonna do and he did it,” Smith recounted.
Undeniably, he expressed his amazement with the accuracy of the prediction. He also shone some light on the difference in the skillsets of the two fighters. Being a UFC champion, it was hard for the Irishman to throw a punch while going back. He was simply not accustomed to it. Nevertheless, Mayweather was labeled as “the man” by both Tyson and Smith. But the fight wasn’t too far away in the Irishman’s mind.
