It’s been 5 years since the world witnessed the clash between legends of two combat sports. Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather was a historic boxing professional match. It remains the second-highest-grossing boxing match with massive PPV sales of 4,300,000 and incredible revenue of $396 million.

Mayweather defeated the UFC double champion, McGregor, via technical knockout (TKO) in the 10th round.

Mayweather in an interview with Revolt recounted his training for McGregor’s fight, “Push-ups and sit-ups, boxed a few times you can bag a few times it’s actually training camp was in different places I would do training camp in Vegas a few days like sometimes I wouldn’t go to the gym for a week.”

Amazed by ‘Pretty boy’s casual approach, DJ EFN asked, “What is it because he wasn’t taking it that serious?”

Mayweather with a professional boxing undefeated record of 50 wins mentions how easygoing his approach was towards the fight. He iterated, “Just won’t take it serious but like I said before I wanted to ask some fun in a fight and I want to entertain the people so you know just leave that style that I had just it was entertaining so the people enjoyed it, so you have to get people to show so I gave people to show.”

McGregor, known for his trash talk, had made every effort to criticize and hype Mayweather prior to the match. The match received enormous media coverage and attention.

However, the more experienced Mayweather stuck to his game plan, “If I want to go out, there a fu**in him up and blaze him right out the gate. I could’ve done that right so but you know my thing is this if I were to did that, then it would be probably our part two.”

McGregor has fully recovered from the catastrophic leg injury he sustained in UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier. After more than a year of inactivity, the champion is back on track. He has begun to share his boxing workout videos.

The UFC president, Dana White, had indicated McGregor’s return would be in June but disclosed it might be postponed even more.

There have been rumors of a rematch between the combat sports pioneers, but the chances seem bleak because McGregor is on the run to avenge his defeats in UFC and Mayweather has retired from professional boxing, though he can still consider an exhibition match.
