The BMF championship will be up for grabs at the main event of UFC 291. The UFC recently released a statement t-shirt based on the championship belt in their UFC Store. Former champion and recently retired Jorge Masvidal appeared in an Instagram post holding the T-shirt to promote the merchandise. However, his former rival and ex-UFC star Nate Diaz wasn’t too fond of it.

UFC president Dana White revived the BMF belt and announced a few months ago that Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje will battle to claim it this weekend. Meanwhile, Nate Diaz expressed his displeasure about the championship, which he failed to win at UFC 244.

As the UFC is hyping up its fans for the upcoming pay-per-view this weekend, they released a statement t-shirt based on the BMF title. Initial holder Jorge Masvidal, UFC 291 contenders Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, and even UFC play-by-play commentator Jon Anik appeared to sport the t-shirt in a post shared by the UFC Store on social media.

However, the photos did not impress ‘Gamebred’s former rival, Nate Diaz, whom he defeated to become the BMF champion. Although the Stockton native had no bad blood for the UFC, he took a jibe at Masvidal and the BMF contenders for UFC 291 and called them “dorks.” In an Instagram story, Diaz wrote, “Shoutout to the [UFC]. But these guys are some f***in dorks.” The Stockton native didn’t spare ‘The Diamond’ in the wake of his recent warning to Diaz about a possible UFC return.

Nate Diaz may not have much love for Masvidal. However, the last evening turned out to be an eventful one for ‘Gamebred’ as he made an appearance at the pre-fight press conference.

At the end of the pre-fight press conference, all the fighters on the card faced off against their opponents. When the main event fighters – Poirier and Gaethje – came to the stage, Jorge Masvidal mediated the stare-down since he was the first champion. At UFC 244, it was Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson who did the honors. But UFC decided to bring in ‘Gamebred this time in a bid to excite the fans.
