Conor McGregor’s feud with Ryan Garcia on social media appears to have been re-ignited! The two were involved in a back-and-forth after it was reported that the boxer had tested positive for the performance-enhancing substance, ostarine, after his win over Devin Haney on April 20. In a now-deleted post on X, McGregor had unleashed a fiery rant against Garcia in which he called for a “lifetime ban” on the boxer.
However, with recent reports of Garcia being handed a one-year ban and being fined by the NYSAC (New York State Athletic Commission), McGregor has once again taken aim at the boxer on social media. But it’s not just Ryan Garcia who was in ‘The Notorious’s crosshairs as he also called out Oscar de la Hoya for “getting a cut of the fine”!

According to reports available online Ryan Garcia and his legal team made a settlement agreement with the NYSAC and as such, he has received a suspension of at least 1 year and has forfeited his official contract purse for the Haney fight which has been reported to come up to $1.1 million. The win for Garcia has now also been overturned into a ‘no contest’.
In a post shared on his Instagram story, Conor McGregor responded to the news by stating, “How are Golden Boy Getting a cut of the fine? Their fighter was dirty. And they get a cut of the fine? Huh?”
Oscar de la Hoya’s ‘Golden Boy’ promotions have come under fire not just by McGregor but by Devin Haney as well. According to another post by McGregor, Haney was quoted as stating, “I don’t understand how golden boy is getting any money as if they took any punches”

The backlash stems from the perception that Garcia, despite being penalized for a doping violation, is indirectly benefiting Golden Boy Promotions, his managing company. The details of the settlement specify that a significant portion of Garcia’s forfeited fight purse will go to Golden Boy, while Devin Haney might also receive a percentage. However, Ryan Garcia has maintained his innocence, claiming he was a victim of substance contamination and his team emphasized that the detected levels of ostarine were negligible and provided no competitive advantage in their statement.
Nevertheless, McGregor’s criticism of the situation highlights concerns about potential conflicts of interest and the ethics of promotional companies profiting from their fighters’ misfortunes. So, what’s next for Garcia? Because the boxer has now made an interesting appeal to UFC CEO Dana White on social media!
