Mike Tyson has had one of the most drastic transformations in sports history. His transformation from a wild, violent, arrogant man who promised to “eat” his opponents in his fighting days children to a vulnerable, contemplative, introspective, and humble man is truly unique.
Tyson, no doubt, has faced his share of demons in the past. He has overcome them with great effort to be the man he is today. Or so it would seem. Michael Jai White recently revealed another side to the brash young Tyson from his early days.

In a recent interview with VladTV, White shared how generous Mike Tyson was. The Hollywood action star said that money brings out more of who a person is. He stated Tyson was a very generous man, and he personally knew of people the former heavyweight champion had gifted houses and cars to. This was before ‘Iron Mike’ went to prison for six years and burned through the hundreds of millions of dollars he had earned.
“When you have money and you have power, you become more of who you are, right. Nothing’s to stop you. So this man was super generous to people who cared about him, [he was] overly generous. So you’re just being more of who you are. I know people Mike’s bought houses for. I’m not going to say any names… There’s a lot, man. I know a lot of people just a lot of people, well, [he] gave cars to,” White told Vlad.
Far from the commotions of his youth, Tyson has now donned the robes of a coach to help a former champion conquer his biggest challenge yet.

“It is no secret I back Ngannou 100% in this face-off of champions. He has one hard punch, and when it lands, it’s game over. I am looking forward to working with Ngannou and supporting his transition from the Octagon to the boxing ring,” Tyson said.

With his appointment as Ngannou’s coach, fans have pointed out, Tyson looks at home and in his element. While most have written Ngannou off and for good reasons, Tyson’s legendary coach and mentor Cus D’Amato used to believe that boxing is more mental than physical. And Ngannou has proven, time and again, from the salt mines of Africa to the UFC octagon, that he does not lack in that department.
