It looks like Dana White is still cross with Francis Ngannou. After the fighter infamously left the UFC, he may have fallen out of favor with the UFC Boss. In fact, he may have fallen out of favor with him even before that. Is that the reason a Jon Jones vs. Ngannou match will never come true?
The answer is only best said by White himself. In a recent press conference, White opened up about the potential of a match between the two heavyweights. And his response did not please YouTuber-turned-prize fighter Jake Paul. Here’s how it all went.

Jake Paul takes a shot at White for denying Jones vs. Ngannou

Jake Paul is most notably known for his boxing victory over UFC fighter, Nate Diaz. He’s also known as one of the very first few YouTubers who decided to make a name fighting. Recently, Dana White’s words at a press conference offended Paul.

White was asked about a potential fight between Ngannou and Jones. Now since Ngannou works for PFL and Jones is a UFC fighter, the event would have to be a cross-promotional one. This did not sit right with Dana White who shunned the reporter away. And Paul just wasn’t having it.

“It’s a shame. Jones vs Ngannou is way bigger now than it was while Francis fought for UFC. Both fighters would make $20M+. If you one can co-promote with Showtime to put on MayMac why not with PFL, where we share the same media partner?”

The fighter said this from his X handle. Of course, Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather was a massive fight. More importantly, it was wholeheartedly promoted by White. However, Ngannou only has unflattering words and a cold empty Octagon. Here’s what he said at the conference.

White and Ngannou have had their differences over the years. The first time Ngannou lost to Stipe Miocic, White would go on to call it an “ego” problem on Ngannou’s part. The two have never really quite gotten along. Now, White has no interest in the fighter taking on ‘Bones’.

“I’m not interested in that, we tried to make that fight, they didn’t want to do it,” Dana White said. “And it’s done, he doesn’t fight here anymore.” Clearly, the last sentence there leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. Ngannou switched to the PFL and the rest is history. Meanwhile, Jones is still in recovery after getting gravely injured during sparring.
Will fans ever get to see an epic matchup between the two? Only time will tell.
