Is Dana White really robbing boxers, or are fans overreacting to his latest move?

After conquering the mixed martial arts format, UFC CEO Dana White appears to be in a mood to conquer boxing as well. At the Callum Walsh vs. Przemysaw Runowski fight in Ireland, the White dropped a bombshell when he asserted that he would be entering into the realm of boxing alongside HE Turki Alalshikh. The combat sports community has gone bollocks onto this news considering that they were not expecting the UFC CEO to stride further than MMA.

Regardless, while in conversation with the media at the Callum Walsh vs. Przemysaw Runowski fight, Dana White emphasized that he would be entering into the realm of boxing, “There will be some big announcements soon. Let me tell you, if you know anything about me and look at anything I ever said, I never say anything that I don’t do, ever.”

He further added, “I’ve never said anything like that and we’ve been kicking the whole boxing thing around for a long time, but you’ve never heard me commit and say ‘I’m in’. Well, I’m in.” When asked about Turki Alalshikh’s involvement in the scene, the UFC CEO affirmed that both of them had been working closely for quite some time and UFC 306 was made possible because of his involvement.

Another boxing promotion by Dana White? Fans might not want it

The promotion has been accused gravely of controlling the pay cycle of the fighters fighting under the promotion. UFC’s Alex Pereria was paid a hefty $303000 bonus for his fight at UFC 303, let us remind you that this is the highest amount of bonus that has been paid in the promotion’s history but it is nothing compared to that of boxing as top men in the boxing earn millions from a single fight. Looking at this, a social media fan wrote, “It’s not enough that he’s been robbing UFC fighters for years, now he wants to rob boxers too. Greed is a disease without a cure.”

Furthermore, a fan believes that Dana White will artificially boost or inflate an athlete’s win-loss record, typically by competing against journeymen, “Nah it’s all about “making stars” if he tries his hardest to pad records in the ufc what you think he’s gonna do in boxing?”

UFC has been standing at the top of the MMA promotion for decades as they have near to no competition but that is not the case when it comes to boxing considering that WBF, WBO, and IBF exist. A social media user asserted that Dana White will not be able to control boxing, “Nope because he can’t control the fighters like he does in the ufc”

The UFC CEO has always been at a crossroads with boxing since he started UFC. According to Dana White, boxing is a “Broken Business” and “an absolute nightmare” to fix but these statements by the UFC CEO are old and it appears that he wants to taste the success of boxing as well, “Lol bro hates on boxing but wants in the business”

Furthermore, another fan highlighted the underpaying issue,  “He won’t get away with underpaying big-name championship fighters like he has in the UFC.” Yet lastly, Dana White finally found support from a fan who wrote, “Today’s boxing on UFC Fight Pass from Dublin, Ireland was a good start..”

The UFC CEO might be either getting his hands into fire or grabbing gold. Regardless, what’s your take on his words? State your thoughts in the comments below.
