In the UFC Vegas post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked about him promoting a possible boxing fight between Roy Jones Jr. and Anderson Silva. White was rather candid about his interest in making this fight happen.
He declared that he was not ready to invest any efforts in promoting fights between legends past their prime. White also said that his sole interest is to find out who are the best fighters in the world right now.
“I don’t know, I am not really interested. Listen, to my core, I’m a fucking fight fan man. What I truly believe that the fight business is for young guys, not for old guys.

“Listen, I get there’s still some name value out there and you can go out and you can make some money. But when you’re a fight fan, I wanna see the best in the world, best up-and-coming kids, the best in the world, I wanna see these guys fight and I wanna know who’s the baddest m**********r in the world in every division.
“As a fight fan, that’s who I am,” said the UFC president.

Roy Jones Jr. expressed his desire to fight Anderson Silva recently
Roy Jones Jr. fought Mike Tyson in an exhibition boxing match. However, the 51-year-old boxer initially had his eyes set on a boxing match against Anderson Silva.
Anderson Silva was recently released by the UFC following his knockout loss to Uriah Hall. At 46, ‘The Spider’ is clearly way past his prime.
White mentioned the fact that those fighters have had their time at the top. And he is looking for new young fighters who are pursuing the dream of becoming the best in the world. Promoting those fighters is his sole interest as a fan of the sport.
“That kind of stuff doesn’t interest me. Anderson Silva had his day, Roy Jones Jr. had his day. Today is not their day. It’s just not. These young guys that you saw fight tonight are the future.
“These are the guys up-and-coming. This is what I am interested in. This is what I love to do. I can sit here all fucking night and watch kids that fought tonight fight,” added the UFC frontman.

Dana White says there are other promoters who might be interested
The UFC president also mentioned that there might be other promoters out there interested in promoting fights involving legends of the past.
But he is not one of them, as he is only looking for fresh and hungry fighters on the rise. Promoting fights between old washed up fighters is not really his thing.
“That’s what I love to do. This is not really what I do. There’s other people out there that do that. Plenty of people do the old guy stuff. I don’t do old guy stuff,” concluded Dana White on the topic.

UFC on Vegas 15 was one of the 3 high profile combat events tonight. Although the main-event between Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis got scrapped last minute, the card was really entertaining with some great fights.
