After so much drama and waiting, it looks like MMA fans are not getting what they want after all, i.e., the return of Conor McGregor to the UFC. The former dual-weight champion is looking to clash against Logan Paul in India for his return to combat sports. ‘Notorious’ took to his X handle to drop the news of him facing Paul in the squared circle. His unexpected confession was a shock for the combat sports community as there was no back-and-forth between McGregor and Paul in recent times. However, can this fight happen, considering both fighters represent different promotions? According to a combat sports analyst, it is very much possible.

The former featherweight-lightweight champion of the world took to his X to make a shocking revelation, “The rumors of a bout with topurio are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.” The entirety of the combat sports world was shocked by the happening of the clash. And again, the question lingers; can these both fight since one is under a UFC contract, and the other, under the WWE?

Renowned journalist Ariel Helwani has emphasized that things would be much easier for Dana White if Conor McGregor were to clash with Jake Paul. Why? Well, because the UFC and WWE are now owned by a single entity, TKO. “So, now you may be asking yourself, how is this possible? How can Logan Paul compete against Conor McGregor in a boxing match?” said Helwani.

He further added, “Logan Paul is a WWE competitor. Yes, he did the Misfits fights. Conor McGregor is a UFC fighter. Then you come to the realization that the parent company of WWE is TKO. So, they are all under the same umbrella. Very easy to get done. That’s a thing I don’t think would be a hurdle. It’s not like trying to do Mayweather-McGregor. There were a ton of hurdles in trying to make that happen. Mayweather-McGregor was a thing that ended up happening, but it took a hell of a long time to get there. The main stumbling block, if you will, was the UFC and Showtime coming together. There isn’t really any of that here.”

None of the stakeholders of the fight including the Ambani family, or Logan Paul have made a comment about the clash happening. However, Jake Paul has come forward to reveal something monumental that might give us more details about the clash, slated to happen in India, according to McGregor’s X post.

Conor McGregor previously called out both of the Paul brothers for a fight and it appears that one of them might have to wrap his hands as ‘Notorious’ is very close to fighting Logan Paul in India next year. As the fight news rattles the MMA community, Jake Paul has come forward to make a startling confession about McGregor’s willingness to fight. ‘The Problem Child’ took to his X handle to ascertain that McGregor’s administration was adamant about having a deal with MVP.

“Now it all makes sense why Conor McGregor & his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us. As we told them them privately & I’m now saying it publicly… the only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing/ MMA fight is if Dana White/ UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are ok with discussions. Conor is washed. Needs the Paul’s. Logan by however he wants,” wrote Paul.

Conor McGregor’s last fight was against Dustin Poirier back in 2021, and since then, the fighter has yet to compete against anyone in any promotion. Regardless, this clash could be a comeback for the fighter after his public disgrace following the Dublin civil trial which he lost. What’s your take on the situation?
