The heavyweight boxing stage is set for another epic showdown! Tyson Fury, known to fans as ‘The Gypsy King’ is gearing up to reclaim his throne. His opponent? The undefeated Oleksandr Usyk, a man whose precision and poise earned him a historic victory and the coveted title of the first four-belt heavyweight champion in modern history. The two will clash on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after their first fight ended in a split decision loss for Fury.

For Fury, this isn’t just about belts—it’s personal as the Ukrainian handed him the first loss of his professional career back in their first fight on May 18 earlier this year. In a recent press conference, Fury let his emotions bubble to the surface. When asked what the fight meant to him, he didn’t mince words. “I’m going to dish out, a whole lot of pain. I’m going to put this f—- in the hurt locker, for sure.” he declared. Fury’s voice carried a weight that left no room for misinterpretation—he plans to make Usyk regret stepping into the squared circle with him this time around.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor, never one to shy away from a bold opinion, has thrown his support behind the more serious and scary version of ‘The Gypsy King’ on display. The former UFC two-division champion recently shared his excitement on his Instagram story by sharing the clip of Fury’s interview with a simple caption that said it all, “Excellent!”

Tyson Fury is usually known for his relentless jabs and outspoken personality before his fights. But this time around, in the clip shared by McGregor, the heavyweight boxing star showed an almost unrecognizable side of himself.

When pressed about his menacing demeanor by interviewers, Fury revealed, “I got nothing to say, apart from there’s going to be a whole lot of hurt and pain in this fight. You watch, that’s all I got to say. Talking’s been done, you know, the first fight I talked, I joked… this time I’m serious, I’m going to do some f—- damage here on Saturday night. Watch me go to work on this f—-.”

His usual humor was absent, replaced with a cold determination. ‘The Gypsy King’, it seems, has traded his crown for a war helmet, ready to enter the battlefield with just one goal in mind, demolishing Oleksandr Usyk. But this fight isn’t just about brute force—it’s a chess match of styles. The first fight was a testament to Usyk’s ability to outmaneuver the towering Brit, but Fury’s promise to put his opponent “in the hurt locker” hints at a more aggressive approach this time around. However, that’s not the only change Fury has made to his plans for the fight as he’s recently shared what his aim is with his physical conditioning for the re-match!

Tyson Fury reveals plans to overpower Oleksandr Usyk with “20 stone” behind his punches

Tyson Fury’s rematch against Oleksandr Usyk has a twist—he’s stepping into the ring heavier than ever. For their first clash, Fury trimmed down to 262 pounds, his lightest weight since 2019. That version of “The Gypsy King” aimed for speed and agility. Yet, it wasn’t enough to outmatch Usyk’s precision and endurance. This time, Fury is planning on overwhelming the Ukrainian with raw, unbridled power.

How does he plan on doing that? In a recent interview with Sky Sports Boxing, Fury revealed, “I’m about 20 stone (280lbs) at the moment, just over. (The benefit is) more power in the punches. I think so (that my best performances have come when I’m heavier), yeah.”

His logic is simple: more weight equals more power. But will his heaviest version pack enough punch to shake Usyk’s dominance? Fury believes his best performances have come when he’s heavier, but the added bulk could also potentially slow him down, leaving him vulnerable to Usyk’s cat-like agility. However, according to ‘The Gypsy King’, “I’m gonna beat him that badly on Saturday he ain’t gonna wanna rematch…”

As such, with raw power as his weapon and a heavier frame as his armor, Tyson Fury is entering this rematch with a fire unmatched. Conor McGregor’s single-word endorsement perfectly captured the essence of this clash, brutal, unapologetic, and electrifying. As Fury prepares to lock Usyk in the proverbial “hurt locker,”  the question becomes, will his gamble at coming in heavier payoff, or will Usyk’s finesse reign supreme once more?
