Conor McGregor tried pretty hard to sell his fight against Logan Paul in India for a combined $500 million purse. However, he was reminded time and time again that he was still signed to the UFC. Jake Paul also sent a tweet that read, “The conductor conducts what you do and don’t do, and you bow and say thank you for the payment sir.” But the Irish fighter never really refused to fight the older Paul brother. Well, that was until he had a heated argument with the Paul brothers on the shuttle to Donald Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. Now, it seemed like ‘The Notorious’ had a clear picture of what lay next for him.
Not too long ago, Logan Paul released a vlog on his YouTube channel, a part of which showed his altercation with ‘Mystic Mac’. The WWE star was seated right in front of McGregor on the bus to Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. Therein, the former UFC double champion threatened to slap around the Pauls and KSI. He said, “I’m going to slap the head off the two of you and KSI. You are nixers to me. Do you understand that? You’re side jobs.” However, his aggression was met with a reality check as the WWE star lashed back and said, “You can’t even do your main job. How can you do your side job?”
This altercation seemed to have pushed McGregor away from the fight in India. The famed MMA journalist, Jake Noecker, successfully extracted the truth out of the Irish mixed martial artist. He asked McGregor if he was going to fight Logan Paul next, or if the fighting community could see him in BKFC or UFC next. ‘The Notorious’ replied, “BKFC, Saturday night, baby, live from Wells Fargo Center.” Well, that was him promoting BKFC Knucklemania V, scheduled for the 25th of January. However, his next fight would be in the Octagon, and it wouldn’t be against Paul. He continued, “For me in a competitive standpoint, UFC.”

Needless to say, a fight between either of the Paul brothers and McGregor would have been a pretty exciting match. But the only hurdle that seemed to have come between Paul and McGregor was the Irishman’s UFC contract. After all, he still has 2 fights left in his UFC contract. And that’s why, Mams Taylor once made a special request to Dana White.
Misfits co-president makes a request to Dana White to let Conor McGregor box
During a conversation with ‘All Out Fighting’, Taylor weighed in on the probability of ‘Mystic Mac’ fighting the older Paul brother. But the Misfits Boxing co-president knew that only White had the power to make the fight happen. He made a humble request to the UFC head honcho and said, “I think KSI and Conor are very game to fight each other. They’ve been wanting to, they’ve been calling each other out in public on social media. But ultimately, we have to respectfully ask Dana if he would consider making that massive, massive fight happen.”

Well, White had rejected the idea of McGregor vs. Paul. In a conversation with ‘Pardon My Take’, the UFC CEO claimed that McGregor would eventually return to the UFC. And hopefully, he’d do so by the fall of 2025. This timeline would ensure ‘The Notorious’s plans of wrapping up his UFC career within the year. He can fight once in the fall, and once again at the end of the year, marking the end of his legendary MMA career.
Maybe that’s the reason why the former UFC double champion’s response highlighted UFC as his next move. Nevertheless, all we can do is wait for the fall to come and see how McGregor acts. What do you think is next for ‘Mystic Mac’? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
