Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury 2 is undoubtedly the biggest fight in the entire combat sports world. But the fight’s undercard has failed to impress many, after the shake-up because of a positive doping test. Usyk, of course, narrowly beat ‘The Gypsy King’ this May to become the first undisputed boxing heavyweight champ since Lennox Lewis nearly two decades ago.

And now, he must prove he deserves that title. The two heavyweight titans are set to fight again on December 21 in an intriguing event. Despite the underwhelming undercard, which admittedly could be much, much better, especially for a fight of this historical magnitude, most remain focused on the main event; including UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

“Very excited for this rematch for all the heavyweight marbles in the world! Let’s go! #RiyadhSeason @Turki_alalshikh @Tyson_Fury @usykaa,” McGregor tweeted in response to a tweet by Turki Alalshikh. The Saudi official shared a fight poster for Fury-Usyk 2 being unfurled from the iconic Big Ben in London.

The UFC star shares a great relationship with Saudi Arabia’s Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh. He’s the man who made this fight possible, for starters. In the meantime, McGregor went to Saudi Arabia for the first Fury-Usyk fight. Therefore, he might make an appearance once again.

Of course, Alalshikh is also the most powerful man in the combat world now. After all, the Saudi government is trying its best to make the Kingdom a sports tourism hub. Simply why they spend eye-watering amounts of money to put on the biggest fights in Saudi.

Therefore, it’s wise for ‘Mac’ to be on the right side of Alalashikh, especially with the clock ticking on his UFC career. This relationship may be especially crucial for the Irishman, as he is seriously considering a celebrity boxing stint.

While many believe ‘Mac’ will never return to the octagon again, UFC CEO Dana White has said that ‘if’ the Irishman fights for the UFC again, it will be next year. But it’s not guaranteed after McGregor revealed he is in talks to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India.

“The rumors of a bout with topurio [Ilia Topuria] are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India,” ‘Mac’ tweeted on Tuesday. He mentioned,I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”

The Irishman, of course, hasn’t fought for almost four years, and an exhibition may be just what he needs to get the rust off before he makes his UFC comeback. At least that is what some fans feel. Others, however, are far more pessimistic. They accept how the Irishman is now at a point in his life where he doesn’t want to go through hell and fight against top guys in the UFC.

Instead, he is looking to take a much easier fight for a big paycheck. What do you think about Conor McGregor’s thoughts on the Fury-Usyk fight?
