The entire fighting world is eyeing the match between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz. But the world hasn’t forgotten the boxer’s desire to fight ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor. During an interview with ESPN, ‘The Problem Child’ opened up on his three-year-old wish. While Paul still wanted to go against the Irish mixed martial artist, there was a giant boulder standing in between. And it was none other than the UFC president, Dana White

Paul and Diaz are set to land against each other on 5th August 2023. Confident in his punching prowess, Paul also made a prediction as to how he would win the fight before making a call against McGregor. However, he wasn’t sure if the former champion would enter the squared circle.

Recently, an interviewer from ESPN had a brief talk with the YouTuber turned professional boxer. The interviewer recollected the first time he talked with Paul and the boxer wanted McGregor as the “final boss”. Howbeit, things were a bit different back then. Now, with a fight booked against McGregor’s rival, he asked Paul if he thought that he could get closer to a fight with the former UFC champion.

Paul replied, “When I knock out Nate Diaz and do what Conor couldn’t, I think, you know, it only makes sense for him to want that money fight.” But he was unsure of whether McGregor was serious about fighting him or not. Furthermore, Paul was also skeptical of the MMA fighter’s appeal. Nevertheless, he was still ready for a fight, claiming that it would be a massive event.

But it was White who stood as a hurdle. Taking a swift jab at McGregor, Paul said, “He obviously has to ask his boss, Dana, if he can do that. I’m my own boss. I make my own decisions. I can fight whoever, wherever, whenever. So, he is really tied up. And even if he wants to do it, Dana might not let him do it.”

This wasn’t the first time the boxer took a shot against the former UFC double champion. Previously, during a conversation with Ariel Helwani, Paul revealed his thoughts on fighting the ‘Mystic Mac’.

He believed that McGregor was nothing but an alcoholic and a dr*g addict. He didn’t want to fight and was more worried about being a free man. Paul was, in fact, disappointed for not being able to fight the final boss.
