Conor McGregor Chases Record-Breaking $130M Payout at BKFC as Floyd Mayweather & Boxing World Put on Alert

Conor McGregor appears to be interested in another $100 million fight with the 50-0 retired boxer, Floyd Mayweather. Why? The former dual-weight champion has called out the retired boxer for another super fight ahead of his UFC return. ‘Notorious’ is looking to make a comeback to the fighting arena years after his shin injury against Dustin Poirier derailed his momentum. McGregor had to wait three years for his return. ‘Mystic Mac’ was originally set to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but that too fell apart after he sustained a toe injury.

Michael Chandler, on the other hand, refused to wait any longer for the former dual-weight champion and agreed to fight Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 to make his own comeback after two years. With Chandler no longer an option, McGregor has called out several fighters, including his former opponent Dustin Poirier and current welterweight champion Belal Muhammad, but none appear eager to clash with McGregor.

However, is ‘Mystic Mac’ worried about it? Certainly not, especially after acquiring a stake in BKFC. McGregor is doing his best to promote his own organization and bring it to new heights. During BKFC Marbella Fight Week, ‘Notorious’ had a conversation with ‘JNMediaUK.’ When the reporter asked him about potential matchups, McGregor threw a fiery taunt at Floyd Mayweather, “Floyd you little F–er”, 

He further added, “You’re doing bad conversations trying to get a boxing match at 155. Fight me my way! I’m the side, you all your bare-knuckle. McGregor, Mayweather, 170 lb—let’s go, baby! Take off the gloves and fight!.”When asked about any crossover fights he’d like to see between MMA and boxing, McGregor emphasized that he’s ready to fight anyone.

“Every single one of them with the balls to do it—if they not, very few of them have the balls to do it. So, anyone who has the balls to step up, that’s my respect,” said McGregor. The ‘Notorious’ vs. Mayweather fight was one of the most lucrative in combat sports history, earning nearly $300 million for Mayweather and $100 million for McGregor.

A rematch would likely be just as lucrative, but will the retired boxer come out of retirement to face McGregor? Only time will tell. Interestingly, Mayweather is not the only boxer McGregor has challenged.

Conor McGregor vs. Terence Crawford may be a reality

Two of the biggest stars in boxing and the MMA, Terence Crawford and Conor McGregor were supposed to fight each other. Both parties confirmed in a phone call that they would face each other, but Crawford later pulled out. The reigning boxing champion revealed in a conversation with the media that Turki Alashikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, had offered him a multi-million dollar, two-fight deal to face McGregor—first in boxing and then in MMA.

This would have been an epic superfight and marked McGregor’s return to combat sports after years of silence. Alashikh arguably offered a hundred million dollars to both the fighters to fight but Crawford turned it down stating that he is not ready to fight inside the Octagon.

In his conversation with the media, Crawford added, “They offered me the fight. Me and Conor got on the phone and started politicking to try and figure something out. Man, I’m not getting in no f—ing Octagon with you so you can be kicking and elbowing me! He was like, ‘I respect that. You respect my sport just like I respect your sport. You understand that if you got in the Octagon with me, you would be at a disadvantage. Just like if I got in a boxing ring with you, I’d be at a disadvantage”
