Chris Eubank Jr. is gearing up for his rematch against former WBO light middleweight champion Liam Smith. He is looking to take revenge for the TKO loss he suffered from Smith earlier this year. Moreover, he made an unusual proposal about the fight that had Conor McGregor react on social media.

Renowned boxing icon Roy Jones Jr. made the decision to wave in the towel and halt the match during Eubank Jr.’s bout against Smith in January. Furthermore, ‘Next Gen’ was soundly defeated by his Liverpudlian opponent in the fourth round of their encounter. As a result, Eubank Jr. has expressed the need for changes in his forthcoming rematch.

‘Next Gen’ was upset about the Roy Jones Jr. waving the towel in his last fight, and since then, he parted ways with the legendary boxer. Moreover, this time he doesn’t want that to happen and has banned his team from bringing any towels. During the press conference, Eubank Jr. proposed that to Smith and said, “Keep those towels out of the corner.”

Hence, it is safe to say that he is taking a keen interest in watching the rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Liam Smith. As such, ‘The Notorious’ was surprised that ‘Next Gen’ did not want his corner to carry towels. He tweeted, “Woah!” Moreover, Eubank Jr. also stated that he’s going into the fight for a war.

‘Next Gen’ is not looking for the “easy way out”

The former IBO super middleweight champion looks set to take his revenge this time around, as he is not looking for any shortcuts. He is not looking for any easy means to win and wants to go to distance against the Liverpudlian. ‘Next Gen’ said, “We are not going to any of that, you know, look for the easy way out. If it gets rough, if it gets hairy, we’re there for the long haul.”

Moreover, given that he announced that his team won’t bring any towels, Eubank Jr. claims that the only towel involved in the fight will be from Smith’s corner. “If there is going to be a towel involved in this fight, it is definitely coming from the other corner,” said the 32-3 boxer.
