The months of tussling and heated accusations and exchanges eventually culminated in a booked fight between the fighters. Notably, ‘The Problem Child’ had his eyes on the Stockton native since his signing with PFL. While rumors flew and dried up, the Youtuber-turned-prize fighter relentlessly pursued his grudge match against the free agent. As a result, their showdown recently received a green flag from Diaz’s camp and they agreed upon an August showdown.
Both fighters who are at a crossroads in their career will face each other on August 5 in Dallas. The intense match will abide by the rules of boxing, and fans will witness the action for 8 rounds.

Journalist Marc Raimondi broke the news to the MMA and boxing community as he took to his Twitter handle. He shared the essential details of the upcoming fight while the rest of the details were yet to be made official.
He thus informed, “Breaking: Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul is set for Aug. 5 in Dallas. Boxing match, eight rounds. More coming to @espnmma.”

Markedly, the ‘Stockton Slapper’, who became a free agent after the completion of his UFC contract, will transition to boxing. The American fighter shrouded his next stop in mystery when he specified his intention to excel in a different combat sport in his retirement speech.
Besides, he wanted to chart a way forward for other MMA fighters to follow, as his predecessors, such as Conor McGregor, failed to amass success in other combat sports.

Interestingly, he had previously offered Nate Diaz a two-fight proposal, one in boxing, and then followed up with a match inside a steel cage.
One of the polarising fighters in combat sports, Jake Paul, had called out Nate Diaz when he announced his contract with the PFL. Thus, he said, “Nate Diaz, I’m down to fight you in your own damn sport. It’s a two-fight deal. Let’s make it happen.”
