The whole world is talking about Francis Nganou versus Tyson Fury. And there’s a good reason for that too. After all, one of the UFC’s former heavyweight champions is going up against ‘The Gypsy King‘ himself. If that’s not surprising enough, what’s more surprising is that a large number of people have their bets placed on Ngannou.

And this number could inflate further after Dana White‘s words went viral once again. Francis Ngannou left the UFC behind and it felt like a gaping hole in the roster. However, it wasn’t without great acknowledgment from UFC Boss Dana White. Here’s what White said about Ngannou that caught everyone’s attention.

Dana White bears witness to Ngannou’s powerful hands

Francis Ngannou was a striker like no other when he was in the UFC. Knockout after knockout led to him being one of the most feared heavyweights in the division. He tore apart the likes of Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem with his massive punches.

Dana White once appeared for a press conference where he couldn’t help but be in awe of the fighter’s power. From a piece of paper, White read out loud Ngannou’s punching power. And as it turns out, even sledgehammers cannot be compared to what he packs.

“Francis Ngannou has the world record for the most powerful punch,” said White in the clip. “His punch is the equivalent of 96 horsepower which is equal to getting hit by a Ford Escort going as fast as it can. And it’s more powerful than a 12-pound sledgehammer swung full-force from overhead. Holy sh*t.”

Clearly, White too was blown away by the kind of power the French-Cameroonian can bring to the table. It’s no wonder so many people are betting their money on Ngannou winning it all. The PFL has already broken the bank to secure his services earlier this year. And it’s not for nothing.

Francis Ngannou and White’s relationship

While White wholeheartedly acknowledged the fighter, their relationship wasn’t always joyous. Ngannou once recalled how he and White had a sort of falling out. When Ngannou was meant to fight Stipe Miocic for the first time at UFC 220, a contractual problem started it all.

“I think he felt threatened by that when I said, ‘Doesn’t matter, we can make a deal for this fight, we just focus on the Stipe fight,’” Ngannou had said.

Later, White would go on to call Ngannou’s loss to Miocic an “ego” problem. White had also accused Ngannou of “fumbling the bag” when he left the UFC. So clearly, their relationship had started souring over contracts early on. And it would eventually break under the weight of the same issues. Now, Ngannou fights for the PFL. Will he be able to trump Fury? We will find out very soon.
