Jake Paul suffered his first loss after losing via a split decision against Tommy Fury. However, he is looking to redeem himself in his upcoming fight against MMA veteran Nate Diaz. Meanwhile, former UFC interim champion Dustin Poirier has shared his prediction for the fight in a recent interview.
Nate Diaz hasn’t fought since leaving the UFC in the latter half of 2022. His former rival Conor McGregor expressed his desire to fight the Stockton native for the third time. However, Diaz looks set to take on ‘The Problem Child’ on August 5th before he comes back to fight in an MMA bout.

‘The Diamond’ recently made an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s ‘The MMA Hour’ show. Poirier mentioned how much he wanted to fight Nate Diaz. But it doesn’t seem like that may come to fruition. However, he shared his thoughts about the fight against Jake Paul. Poirier said, “I will definitely watch for sure.” Although Diaz has been a fighter his whole life, ‘The Diamond’ believes that it might not be an easy fight for him.
Poirier said, “You know, Jake’s younger, bigger, faster. It’s not an easy fight.” He mentioned that Nate Diaz is now a veteran with a lot of experience, but Jake Paul is young and he has all the resources to get him a high-level training camp. Poirier added, “Nate’s a grizzled veteran with the right experience and Jake’s a new guy who’s on YouTube. He’s got the money and the amenities to surround himself with the best people and dedicate himself to fighting.”
