With the announcement of Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury, the fans and pundits have already decided on their pick. ‘The Predator’ will test his punching power against ‘The Gypsy King’ on October 28th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With the title of baddest man on the planet on the line, the former UFC champion has his work cut out in the British champion. While many don’t give him a chance, his formal rival foresees a different outcome.
Stipe Miocic wishes nothing but luck for his former foe in the squared circle. The American fighter has a fair idea about the destructive power of the Cameroonian-French fighter, as both met twice in the UFC. “There is no one tougher than me,” Fury announced when their fight went official. However, Miocic believes the boxing champion will be left shocked.

The 40-year-old is 1-1 in his previous encounters with Ngannou. It was he who laid face flat on the canvas when Ngannou clinched the heavyweight gold at UFC 260. Now, two years down the line, he is ready to cheer for the fellow “MMA guy”.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, the former UFC champion shared his opinion on the upcoming super fight. He said, “I wish him nothing but the best, to get an amazing contract which is great for him [Francis Ngannou].”
In addition, the former Golden Gloves champion maintained his former opponent deserved such a fight. He also declared Ngannou would shock people, as he did in the UFC with his fearsome knockouts.
He continued, “And he deserves a fight, get to fight Tyson Fury now. I hope he, you know, shocks a lot of people. I’m pulling for the MMA guy.”

Notably, the unwillingness of UFC President Dana White to grant Ngannou a grand contract and also the absence of a clause to pursue a boxing career left the two in flux. When Ngannou last fought inside the promotion, he reportedly collected only $440,000. Meanwhile, Fury’s knockout victory against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium beefed up his account by $26 million.
But with his next fight, the PFL star will collect money that will dwarf his combined UFC earnings. Further, the opportunity to face Fury is the first step in his ambitious boxing career. On the other hand, Miocic will face Jon Jones in a title match at the Madison Square Garden on November 11 at UFC 295.
