The biggest fight in the MMA community currently is not a fight between the two professional fighters. Instead, this title belongs to the much-awaited clash between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. The two billionaires are all set to lock horns in arguably one of the viral showdowns in the history of sports.

At this point, celebrities facing each other is nothing new in combat sports. Influencers like KSI, Logan Paul, and Astrid Wett have established themselves as draws in boxing, even more so than some actual professional boxers. But this would be the first time that such a celebrity clash will take place inside the MMA cage instead of the boxing ring. But what will be the impact of such a fight for the sport of MMA? Here is what former UFC lightweight fighter Kevin Lee thinks about it.

Recently, the former lightweight star joined TMZ Sports to discuss his comeback to the UFC on Saturday. For those unaware, Lee departed from the UFC following a decision loss to Daniel Rodriguez back in 2021. Now, after a gap of two years, the 30-year-old fighter is all set to put on a show against Rinat Fakhretdinov in Las Vegas. But apart from talking about his return to the octagon, the fighter also made a surprising revelation regarding the upcoming clash between the two billionaires.

Lee revealed that he has spent some time training with the Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. And if he is to be believed, the Facebook sensation is ‘legit.’ Applauding the two tech entrepreneurs and giving a nod to their fight, Lee said:

“And he’s legit. He’s for real, like he’s really into it. He’s really, you know, going out there and competing. They said he put a hat on, the hoodie up, and everything. Like, he, he’s for real, he’s a real man for that. So, I get, I get, for one, I give my respect to anybody willing to step into that cage, anybody willing to put their life on the line because that’s what they’re doing.”

If given a chance, will train with Elon Musk

Later in the interview, Kevin Lee said that he would train with Elon Musk if he asks him to. Further revealing that he was present in Texas during the time of the interview. For those who don’t know, Musk currently lives in Bastrop, outside Austin, Texas. In Lee’s own words, he does not want to ‘pick’ a side in the fight. Thus, he would train with anyone who asks him to.

Just like Lee, experts seem quite confused in their prediction of the fight. Neither of the two men has fought professionally before. For many, Zuckerberg’s background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gives him an edge, further established by the fact that Kevin Lee didn’t find any holes in his game. Others are favoring Musk due to his size advantage. Nevertheless, the saucy history between the two will catch a lot of eyes, something very beneficial for a young sport like MMA.
