The fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia was arguably the biggest boxing match of this year. Many UFC stars and celebrities from other industries attended the fight that took place on April 22. Colby Covington was also among the few UFC stars present at the event and had some positive things to say about the event, and even getting to meet Floyd Mayweather.

It has been well over a year since Colby Covington fought inside the Octagon. His last fight was against his former friend and bitter rival Jorge Masvidal, who recently announced his retirement from the sport. But ‘Chaos’ has been active outside of the cage, attending various events and interviews.

The 35-year-old Welterweight star recently appeared in an interview with ‘LowKick MMA’ and talked about attending the fight on 22nd April in Las Vegas. He claimed to have had a wonderful time during the evening and got the opportunity to stay at Donald Trump‘s Trump International Hotel. Covington said, “Man, that was awesome. I had a great time out in Vegas. I always have a great time staying at the Trump International Hotel.”

He further went on to explain how beautiful Trump’s hotel was. ‘Chaos’ added, “It’s the most beautiful and luxurious hotel on the strip. At the end of the strip, you get a beautiful view from the Playboy suite where I’m just looking down [at] Las Vegas boulevard. Just seeing the bright lights and the city that I love fighting in.”

Colby Covington wasn’t the only renowned fighter attending the event. Floyd Mayweather and his father also attended the event, and the former UFC interim champion got the opportunity to hang out with the undefeated boxing legend. He even shared some of the moments from the event on his Instagram account. Covington said, “To go front row and sit with Floyd Mayweather Sr., chopping it up with Floyd Mayweather backstage, getting to hang out with Gervonta even in his locker room after the fight. It was an unbelievable night.”

Colby Covington was impressed with the boxing event, claiming that there was a lot of electricity in the arena among the fans. He believes that UFC fighters should look at these boxing events and take note. Covington said, “It was a great event, and that’s what we need in the UFC.” He added, “Guys need to learn from the way that those guys sold the fight and the way that those guys went out there and put on a show.”

The former UFC Interim Champion will be taking on Leon Edwards later this year. While many people didn’t agree with Covington’s admission as the next contender, UFC president Dana White remains adamant about giving the 35-year-old a title shot. We will have to wait and see what follows.
