While Conor McGregor hasn’t made a clear commitment to return to the UFC, he seems to be focusing on a new venture that could potentially lead to a multimillion-dollar payday. Though some remain doubtful about the details of his rumored boxing match against Logan Paul, McGregor is actively addressing claims that he was offered $250 million to face the influencer-turned-WWE star in India.

However, Logan Paul recently made it clear that he is looking to focus on wrestling full-time and not have extra commitments. So if the fight doesn’t happen, what’s next for Conor McGregor? It seems he has already found himself a new opponent.

The MMA world had been eagerly anticipating Conor McGregor’s return to combat sports. However, many were surprised when he hinted at a boxing match instead of a UFC fight. The rumors of a massive $250 million payout helped explain why McGregor might be leaning toward boxing. However, things took an interesting turn after Logan Paul spoke out, adding a new layer of uncertainty to the potential matchup. In the debut episode of WWE’s RAW on Netflix, Logan Paul made an unexpected revelation.

He announced that he might step away from some of his other projects, including the rumored boxing match with Conor McGregor. “I’ve been so good at this [professional wrestling]. Now, I’m dedicating my life to this,” these were the exact words of the 29-year-old. However, according to a post shared by Happy Punch on their Instagram page, KSI is ready to get into an exhibition match with the former dual-champion.

The caption of the post read, “KSI has now reportedly entered talks for the Conor McGregor boxing exhibition. Logan and Jake Paul have also been linked to discussions with McGregor”. KSI has now made it clear that he is indeed ready for the fight with a post on his X account. In the past, a fight between KSI and Conor McGregor has been teased, with tensions nearly boiling over at the O2 Arena last year. After Anthony Joshua’s win over Robert Helenius, the two men almost came to blows, adding fuel to their ongoing rivalry and raising the stakes for a potential showdown. The Dubliner also made it clear that he will fight him solely because of his viral new song Thick Of It.

Chael Sonnen shares why Logan Paul vs Conor McGregor is a no-brainer

Chael Sonnen has dismissed the idea that any billionaire would pay $250 million to Conor McGregor, even with his status as one of the biggest stars in MMA history. Sonnen pointed out that the real purpose behind the rumored exhibition fight is to boost tourism in India and draw fight fans to the country. According to Sonnen, such large-scale events are typically funded by governments rather than private individuals. He went on to say that McGregor’s claims about the match and the massive payout are nothing more than lies.

He said, “Not a single word is true. You’ve got to understand, Conor is not boxing Logan Paul. There is not a billionaire in India looking to bring people over and change tourism,” Sonnen stated on his YouTube channel. “That is something that is exclusively done by the government. There’s no check for $250,000,000… He’s kidding. You’re not supposed to believe any of that to be true.”

‘The Bad Guy’ also argued that no one would shell out such a massive sum to watch Conor McGregor box Jake Paul. He pointed out that McGregor’s boxing record stood at 0-1, while Paul was a YouTuber who transitioned into WWE. To Sonnen, the matchup didn’t justify the rumored payout and seemed unrealistic.

At the moment, Conor McGregor’s rumored boxing match with Logan Paul is nothing more than speculation. Fans can only wait for an official announcement regarding the boxing clash. In the meantime, many are looking ahead to the possibility of the Irishman returning to the MMA cage by late 2025. Will he make a comeback this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
