Oleksandr Usyk is the Undisputed heavyweight champion of the world after a tremendous performance to topple Tyson Fury. Nevertheless, ‘The Gypsy King’  was commended by many, including Joe Rogan, for being able to come back after getting rocked in the 9th round.

After a great back-and-forth fight, the Ukrainian managed to earn a split-decision victory and handed the former champion his first-ever professional loss in his 36th fight. Meanwhile, UFC legend Daniel Cormier ideates that a rematch is likely to be the next move for both boxing megastars.

During a recent YouTube video that Daniel Cormier posted, he weighed in on the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury and, as expected, shared some words of praise for the exceptional performance that they put up for fans around the world. Also, he referenced what the general prediction people had about this fight, which turned out to be as true as it could have been.

“A lot of people in the know and we speak to them, all knew that Oleksandr Usyk would be a problem for Tyson Fury. I didn’t know that he’d be that much of a problem and I don’t know that they knew that Tyson Fury would be as game as he was to fight in the way that he did,” Daniel Cormier stated.

The former UFC double champion also imagines that Tyson Fury and Usyk will return to settle the score once again. Daniel Cormier, while claiming that people will pay to see how the match will go down, will also join the fans in watching the second encounter between the two of the biggest boxing names in the world.

“It was an amazing fight and luckily for us, there an automatic rematch regardless of who loses. And the fight that they had today, somebody’s gonna pay a ton of money to see him fight again, and once again I’ll sitting on my couch watching it,” Cormier added.

Meanwhile, let’s take a look at what went down during that boxing match in Saudi Arabia.

Usyk vs Fury – as it happened

When one remained undefeated in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the other lost that status. Oleksandr Usyk just managed to inch past ‘The Gypsy King’ during a ferocious 12–round bout that saw him claim all the heavyweight titles. This marked the first time someone became undisputed in over 25 years as the Ukrainian added all heavy-weight crowns on offer to his resume following a tough fight that went through 12 rounds, and ended up with Usyk winning through a split decision victory with a score of 114–113, 113–114, and 113–114 by the judges, respectively.

Still, people did not rule out the likeliness of a little controversy. Previously, we had mentioned that Tyson Fury was about to be beaten up in the 9th round. In spite of that, he managed to recover before the referee could reach ten, drawing praise from Joe Rogan, much to the dislike of the fans who thought that the referees took a breather while waiting for Fury to recover. However, there might be a potential rematch, as Daniel Cormier put it.
