It seems like the Gypsy King might have used the duck-and-dodge technique on facing Jon Jones in an MMA cage. A few weeks ago, UFC commentator Joe Rogan talked about a hypothetical ‘locked in a room’ fight between boxing legend Tyson Fury and UFC GOAT Jon Jones. Moreover, the popular podcaster stated his belief that Jones would dominate and defeat Fury in such a fight.
Quick to respond, Tyson Fury hammered down on Rogan and also exchanged some online jabs with Jon Jones. Stepping into this exchange, UFC President Dana White publicly offered Fury a chance to fight Jones in an MMA cage. Eventually, this led to many fans believing that they were going to see ‘The Gypsy King’ vs ‘Bones’ in the UFC. However, now it seems like Fury might have opted out of that potential fight.

In an interview with ‘The Mac Life’, the undefeated British boxer addressed his ongoing beef with Jones and Rogan. But what Fury stated was miles apart from what fight fans really wanted to hear. According to him, the idea of a cage-fight against the UFC heavyweight champ is “ridiculous”, and he never plans to enter the world of MMA.
“The talk with me and Jon Jones fighting in the cage is absolutely ridiculous. Why would I even dream of going in a cage of wrestling and all? That’s not my thing!”
Further, the 34-year-old even termed Jones as the GOAT, but was still confident that he would stand his ground in a no holds barred fight. “Jones is a great guy, probably the GOAT of MMA. (But) Someone goes in the room with me, and it’s a no holds barred, you’re gonna have to kill me to stop me.”
Jon Jones vs Tyson Fury in a boxing fight is still a possibility!
Not all hopes to see a heavyweight clash between Jon Jones and Tyson Fury have perished! Further ahead in the interview, ‘The Gypsy King’ highlighted the possibility of fighting Jones in a boxing match and cashing in a fancy paycheck.

Fury stated, “The thing was, I offered Jones, I said ‘you and me in a boxing ring and make some real money’. But yeah, zero chance of me going in an MMA cage.”
Thus, combat fans may still get a chance to see them clashing. On the other hand, Francis Ngannou is also interested in a boxing match against the Britisher. Only time will tell if either Jones or Ngannou get a fight booked against the undefeated boxer.
