Claressa Shields is on the move again to MMA. A two-time Olympic and world champion transitioned to MMA in 2020, as she penned a deal with PFL. After collecting a mixed martial arts 1-1 record, she once again wants to prove her mettle in the steel cage. Her devastating punches and dominant reign have made sure she has a long following, including that of UFC star Conor McGregor. But it appears her quest to become a household name is still a distant dream.

The 28-year-old boxer has notably held titles in three weight divisions and remains the only boxer in history to claim all four major world titles. Despite this, she once declared, “I’m known worldwide, but I’m not a household name yet.” ‘GWOAT’ has achieved everything that the squared circle has to offer, and this ignited her journey into the MMA world. Therefore, she recently agreed on a deal to extend her contract with the PFL. Will that make her face known throughout the globe? While she strongly believes so, Dillon Danis’ recent remark suggests otherwise.

The boxer and the PFL announced the multiyear deal on Tuesday. While the exact details of the deal are not revealed, the MMA promotion will be delighted to add another star to its growing roster. This announcement came after ‘T-Rex’ collected a splendid win against Maricela Cornejo in a boxing match. However, this comment will not dent her ambitions of becoming the first athlete to win the championship in boxing and MMA. Meanwhile, the UFC’s rival promotion, PFL, is bolstering its ranks.
