The wild ending of the Floyd Mayweather-John Gotti III fight has garnered reactions from many pros, including Joe Rogan. The longtime UFC commentator discussed the ending of the fight and the subsequent brawl during a recent episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.’ However, Gotti did not agree with Rogan’s take on the controversial ending. He took to social media to refute Rogan’s claim and clarify the situation.
The boxing fight between the consensus GOAT of boxing and the MMA fighter out of a former New York crime family went down in Florida. It ended in an all-out brawl after the referee called the fight off due to the fighters not paying heed to his instructions. Rogan had a different explanation for the incident. Gotti stepped in and clarified the situation as he thought Rogan’s interpretation was far from the truth.

In the JRE episode #1998, Joe Rogan and his guest Ali Siddiq discussed the Mayweather-Gotti III fight. Rogan briefly explained the buildup of the fight before analyzing a clip of the ending. The veteran MMA commentator said, “I mean, you know, even at 46, he’s [Floyd Mayweather] the greatest of all time, and this kid is really an MMA fighter. He’s a tough guy. He caught Floyd a couple of times with some little shots. But mostly he’s just getting boxed up, right? Boxed up by literally the greatest boxer of all time.”
Then, the BJJ black belt gave his version of what Gotti did wrong, which led to the end of the fight. He said that Gotti clinched for too long and tried to land shots in the clinch. Rogan said this was something he could do in MMA- “But he was holding on quite a bit and wouldn’t let go and he was trying to like hold, and clinch, and hit, which is something you can do in MMA. So he’s protecting himself from Floyd but he’s not letting go.”
Then, the JRE host added how the referee stepped in and called the fight since the fighters were not obeying his commands. Rogan’s comments insinuated that Gotti’s clinches led to the referee calling the fight. However, the MMA fighter had a counter-argument for the same.
Gotti refutes Rogan’s claims about the Mayweather bout

The 30-year-old wrote, “@joerogan it was mutually called for both of us cursing at one another those are the only 2 moments I clinched the stoke fight you still the man tho joe.” Regardless of the erroneous take, Gotti showed no ill will against Rogan and signed off his message with a show of support for the 55-year-old.
