Most fans would agree that the famed UFC icon, Conor McGregor, knows the art of getting the cameras pointed at himself. Whether it’s showing up at the Monaco Grand Prix on his $2.7M Lamborghini yacht, or sparking controversy at this year’s NBA Finals between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat. The 35-year-old has the habit of creating a frenzy in the crowd. The ceremonial weigh-ins and press conferences of McGregor’s UFC fights also bear testimony to his ability to hype up crowds. The Irishman even raised a toast of his famous ‘Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey’ with the UFC head honcho, Dana White, which drove the pre-UFC 229 press conference crowd absolutely crazy.

However, many would agree that McGregor created the most hype during the media events prior to his coveted boxing match against Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather in the year 2017. As most fans might already know, the promoters of the McGregor-Mayweather boxing match chose to conduct a number of media events to promote the fight. These served as perfect opportunities for ‘Mystic Mac’ to get the crowds roaring. However, he chose to apply various methods for this. Sometimes it was simply his brashness on the mic that had the audience go wild. But for many fans, his ‘F**K YOU’ suit became the primary talking point of this entire series of pre-fight events.

What is the story behind Conor McGregor’s ‘F*CK YOU’ suit during Floyd Mayweather fight promotions?

Several fans might remember that ‘The Notorious’ dawned an elegant-looking navy blue suit that also had a polka dot-like pattern for the McGregor vs. Mayweather pre-bout press event at Toronto. However, the ones who went into the details might know that McGregor’s suit contained the lettering of ‘F**K YOU’ instead of the polka dots.

At a point in the press conference, The Irishman also promoted his unique piece of apparel. Along with an announcement about the launch of his own line of suits, McGregor questioned the Toronto crowd about his stunning outfit. He asked, “How does this suit look?”, and then went on to reveal its specialty himself.

He disclosed it was a “pinstripe” suit and said, “If you zoom in on the pinstripes it says, ‘F**K YOU”. The crowd’s reaction to these words from McGregor was nothing short of an explosion.

Who made the specially tailored $6500 suit for the UFC star?

‘The Notorious’s’ coveted ‘F**K YOU’ suit was a product of the noted custom suit and casual clothing house, ‘David August Inc’, headed by David Heil.

‘ManofMany.com’ also revealed that the stunning suit came for a price of $6500 at that time. Further, ‘The CEO of ‘David August Inc.”, described what led to the creation of McGregor’s unique suit.

He disclosed that the unique lettering on the pinstripes of the suit was actually his own idea. Knowing that their noted client McGregor would be dawning it, Heil revealed that he wanted to use “fighting words” instead of the traditional pinstripe. He was also confident about the fact that McGregor would carry the suit pretty well.

Heil said, “He’s[McGregor] not afraid of prints and color, and he’s definitely not shy when it comes to bold comments and remarks. Naturally, this print suited him well.” He also confirmed McGregor’s words about the launch of his own suiting line. He said, “We’re actually talking about partnering[with McGregor]”. But the ‘David August Inc.’ head honcho refrained from giving out any more details.

Where is the original suit that Conor McGregor wore?

Most fans know that the materials used by noted personalities are often preserved as antiques. Hence, a lot of fans might speculate whether McGregor’s suit has also been preserved as an antique showpiece.

Those fans are absolutely right regarding this thought. ‘GQ.com’ reported, McGregor’s coveted ‘F**K YOU’ suit currently accompanies the noted ‘Thirty Seconds to Mars’ vocalist, Jared Leto’s famous ‘Gucci’ suit, and a lot of other such noted apparel at the Menswear Hall of Fame.

Did Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) wear Conor McGregor’s suit?

The famed AEW wrestler, Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF), who also held the promotional championship, once exhibited a similar sense of fashion. Amid his championship tenure, MJF also introduced a custom-designed AEW title. He decided to unveil the new championship belt at the ‘AEW Dynamite’, which he referred to as ‘Triple B’.

However, the noted MMA coverage personality, Chamatkar Sandhu, pointed out an uncanny similarity between McGregor’s ‘F**K YOU’ suit and MJF’s AEW Dynamite apparel.

But Sandhu’s update on ‘X’ (then Twitter) was partially incorrect. Despite MJF’s suit displaying a similar ‘pinstripe’ pattern to McGregor’s coveted suit, the lettering on those pinstripes was the prime difference between the suits. While McGregor’s sported the offensive words ‘F**K YOU’ on his suit, MJF’s outfit contained the proud lettering of ‘BETTER THAN YOU’.
