However, UFC commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan was once astonished after witnessing the physique of the former Mr. Olympia, Hadi Choopan. The 56-year-old UFC mainstay had Dave Portnoy on the #1920 episode of the JRE podcast. There, he brought up the topic of bodybuilding and asked one of his production members to show the winner of the 2022 Mr. Olympia competition. It was Hadi Choopan. Moreover, when Joe Rogan saw how big he was, he could not comprehend it. He said, “That’s the guy. Jesus! (laughs hysterically) What the f**, man?”

Dave Portnoy then questioned Choopan’s decision to become that big. He asked Rogan, “Does this guy look in the mirror and think he looks good?” As such, Joe Rogan claimed that the Iranian wanted to be a bodybuilder, so he does look good. “Hadi Choopan? That’s what he wants to look like… He wants to be a bodybuilder,” said the JRE host.

Furthermore, Joe Rogan also mentioned that the reason why Hadi Choopan wins competitions is that he looks better than more people. However, he may not look good as a normal person who lives a normal life. “I mean, does he look good? Yeah, he does. He’s a bodybuilder. That’s why he wins. You [Portnoy] just don’t think that he looks good as like a regular human,” Rogan added.

Meanwhile, Hadi Choopan is currently embroiled in a controversy. He stormed off the stage after losing this year’s Mr. Olympia competition to Derek Lunsford. People have different takes on the judges, ruling the competition in favor of Lunsford. Meanwhile, Joe Rogan shed light on how bodybuilders are ruining their health. Let’s take a look at that front.

JRE host mentioned the dangers bodybuilders are putting their bodies through

Joe Rogan claimed during the same episode that bodybuilders cannot compete at the highest level if they don’t take any banned substances. He believes that it is almost impossible to look as big as they do. He said, “The bodybuilder conversation like you can’t compete as a pro bodybuilder unless you’re doing something. Your body’s not supposed to be that big.”

Furthermore, the 56-year-old also mentioned that people in the bodybuilding community know that there are certain risks that the athletes put their bodies through. An example of those risks is not lessening the amount of water in their body to make their muscles look more prominent and defined. “There’s also this acknowledgment like you’re doing very serious damage to your body. You’re getting dehydrated down to like, zero water, like one percent body fat,” said Joe Rogan.
