Weight classes exist in combat sports for a reason. They are an effective and proven way to prevent mismatches, ensure the safety of fighters, and have fair fights. Alex Pereira, for example, struggled against Jan Blachowicz in his light heavyweight debut at UFC 291 last month. Even Jon Jones, arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all time took 3 years to transition from the light heavyweight to the heavyweight division.
Therefore, if one is presented with a match between two opponents who are as far apart in size as bodybuilder Bradley Martyn and One FC & former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, the result would be foregone in many people’s opinion. But, many like Joe Rogan and ‘DJ’ himself, disagree.

“He is 265 [pounds]. He is a body builder, so obviously he’s got the weight advantage. I’m going to fly down to Calabasas and we are going to roll man. I am going to roll him up” he said.
‘DJ’ revealed that he has already been in contact with Schaub to make the fight happen. The flyweight was confident about his win despite the size difference, as he felt that technique matters much more than weight in grappling.

He asked Callen if there would be a time limit to the bout. When the comedian answered in the negative, Rogan reiterated Martyn has “no chance–zero chance”. The comedian even commented on the way he felt that ‘DJ’ will win. The UFC commentator predicted Marty is going to “100% gonna get choked out”.
