He narrated, “So I walked in and Jon Jones saw me and he smiled. He looked to his right and he saw Latory and he grabbed her hand and he grabbed my hand. He might have grabbed mine first; it makes me feel better [if I say] he grabbed mine first. He grabbed my hand and brought our hands together and I picked her up and gave her a hug and said, ‘Let’s get out of here.'”

When Mike Perry replaced his coaches with Latory Gonzalez
Before his fight against Mickey Gall in 2020, Mike Perry had stated that he was barely pleased with his coaches and the team surrounding him. As such, the fighter decided to take over the responsibility for his training for the fight!
Perry, however, wasn’t alone, as Gonzalez was with him every step of the way! Fans saw Perry being escorted to the cage for the fight with Gonzalez at his side carrying the water and ice for him. During the fight, Gonzalez remained focused on the fight with the occasional words of encouragement for Perry. However, during a particularly heated exchange, she yelled out, “Punch Mickey Gall in the face!”

Despite the unconventional setup, Perry secured a unanimous decision victory over Gall, attributing the win to his training choices. He stated, “It’s all up to me, every time we get in there. It’s all up to me, I put the training camp together. It was necessary. I did what I needed to do to get the win.”
