Is McGregor vs. Perry the fight we all need, or just another hype train?

Conor McGregor might not be fighting inside the Octagon yet but he is picking fights outside it. His recent opponent for the feud is bare-knuckle boxing star Mike Perry who the former supposedly fired from BKFC. Now Perry has targeted ‘The Notorious’ in a teaser clip for his ‘Down & Dirty’ docuseries.

This series will showcase the shenanigans of Perry’s new organisation Dirty Boxing Championship and the team that made this happen. In this clip that has become viral on social media, Perry responded to McGregor’s incessant jabs about firing him.

He dismissed the Irishman’s vitriol by saying, No what is making me mad is everybody is sucking his ba** like he is already fought for them. Like hi, did y’all forget that I am the reason you all are pumped up right now? I fought five times for y’all and y’all ain’t showing me no love. The fighter in Utah who won flicking me off in the ring like okay that is the most viral thing you can do. But Bit** you lucky I ain’t getting in that ring. Right now, I should have.”

Mike Perry is ready to take on ‘Mystic Mac’ for a fight and made that clear in the docuseries clip. The tension between the duo is palpable and was aggravated due to ‘Platinum’s loss to Jake Paul . ‘The Notorious’ decided to criticize Perry’s performance and the part owner of BKFC announced that he would fire Perry from the promotion.

When the former UFC dual champion was asked whether Perry was fired, he answered in the affirmative. However, he was also ready to give the fan-favourite fighter another shot aiming that Perry was scared of one of the Champions in BKFC. In an interview with The Schmo, Conor McGregor said, “Mike [Perry] is fired, but we’re in negotiations. [Dave] ‘Redneck’ Mundell called him out.” However, is the decision final after the next fight for Perry?

Middleweight champion David Mundell, aka ‘Redneck’, successfully guarded his title for the third time and called out Mike Perry in October. This prompted McGregor to comment on what ‘Platinum’ is planning.  “He’s been afraid of Mundell. We had to give him a little cherry-pick-made title in the ‘King of Violence’ or whatever you call it,” Conor McGregor told ‘The Schmo’.

McGregor also mentioned that Perry was never the world champion and he is apparently afraid of Mundell. However, the Irishman has kept the option for Perry to come back for this fight in the Riyadh Season. Riyadh Season is the time when the mega fights happen so it might be possible that McGregor vs. Perry might ensue at that time as well.

Conceding, that Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens are probable BKFC debut opponents for Conor McGregor, David Feldman recently said, “I love both of those but I also am considering bringing somebody else in that I have in mind that I think for his [Conor’s] first one. It could be one of the biggest fights ever.” This idea is pretty exciting for the BKFC president because McGregor had mentioned his interest in making a debut at BKFC as a fighter during the Riyadh Season.
