Bellator’s finest, Paul Daley, will fight Sabah Homasi later this week at Bellator 257. During the pre-fight press conference of the event, ‘Semtex’, went for a ride down the memory lane as he looked back at his 2010 win over UFC’s BMF champion, Jorge Masvidal. The Brit earned a decision win over ‘Gamebred’ under the Shark Fights promotion.
Masvidal is one of many superstars Daley has shared the cage with. He has also competed against the likes of Nick Diaz and Tyron Woodley. MMA fans consider his war against the elder Diaz brother in 2011 as one of the best one-round fights in MMA history.

However, Daley doesn’t look back at the Diaz fight as he does to his fight against Masvidal. As he lost to Diaz, he doesn’t have fond memories of that contest.
‘Semtex’ said, “It’s not something I look back on often I get people tagging me in it and all of this the best round and in history, whatever, but I lost the fight. You know, I’m in there, I’m in there to win. So initially, I would share it because you know, I was in there with Nick Diaz, who I regard as one of the best mixed martial arts fighters of my generation.”
“But now I don’t can share I lost the match. I didn’t do what I was supposed to do in preparation for the fight. it’s just another fight. But the Masvidal victory, I look back on because I whooped his a**, I got that victory. And now he’s claiming to be the BMF. But we all know who the real BMF is. So that’s that,” he added.
What went wrong for Paul Daley in the UFC?
‘Semtex’ joined the UFC as one of the brightest welterweight prospects in the world. Wins over Martin Kampmann and Dustin Hazelett were two of his three fights in the UFC. At UFC 113, in his third appearance inside the Octagon, Daley punched his opponent Josh Koscheck after the conclusion of the fight.

That prompted his release, and fans were saddened to see the talented fighter leave the world’s premier MMA organization like that. He has been a part of the Bellator MMA promotion for many years now. And a win this weekend might just push him for a title shot there.
