Undefeated featherweight, Khasan Magomedsharipov, has signed with Bellator MMA recently. The Russian featherweight fighter is the brother of UFC star, Zabit Magomedsharipov. After fighting in regional promotions for a considerable amount of time, the younger Magomedsharipov is headed for the big leagues to make a name for himself.
Khasan trains with his brother, Zabit, and his coaches, Mark Henry, and more UFC troops. He has a record of 5-0 in his professional MMA career and is just as promising and dynamic as his superstar brother, who is considered to be one of the best featherweight fighters in the world. Khasan put the MMA world on notice when he finished his opponent in September 2020 via a Twister submission, one of the rarest moves executed in an MMA fight. He has certainly grabbed eyeballs with his spectacular performances inside the cage, and Bellator MMA is giving him a chance to showcase his ability on a bigger platform.
The younger Magomedsharipov has 4 finishes out of his 5 wins, with 3 coming by the way of submission and 1 by T/KO. At 20, he already looks like a world-beater and one can only hope he realizes the potential he has been showing so far.
It remains to be seen if Khasan can live up to Zabit. However, the MMA world has certainly gotten yet another pair of brothers who could very well take over the sport for good.
Bellator kicks off its 2021 schedule in April, and Khasan will look to get in the action as soon as possible. His brother, ‘ZaBeast’ will hope to do the same in the UFC.
When will Zabit Magomedsharipov fight again?
The 29-year-old Zabit hasn’t competed since 2019 after defeating Calvin Kattar in Moscow. He is still undefeated in the UFC, racking up 6 wins. But, inactivity has started to kill his hype. He needs to get back on the horse and start competing to keep up his run for the UFC gold.
