Two-division Bellator MMA champion, Patricio Pitbull, has issued a challenge to UFC superstar, Conor McGregor, and company president, Dana White. Pitbull currently holds the featherweight and lightweight belts in the Bellator MMA promotion. He captured the lightweight belt by defeating the new UFC star, Michael Chandler.
Pitbull also believes his former opponent ‘Iron’ can become a champion in the UFC. He told MMA Weekly that he would give $1 million of his own money as he issued a challenge to UFC President Dana White, saying that he can beat any fighter on the 135, 145, and 155 lbs divisions of the UFC roster.
“Conor McGregor. I know I can beat him. So that’s the fight I want,” said Pitbull. His coach, Eric Albarracin, added, “The original champ-champ versus the reigning champ-champ. The best against the best. Let’s see who comes out on top. We got a million dollars saying it’s going to be Patricio Pitbull. Are you willing to take the bet?”

Pitbull is currently preparing for the upcoming $1 million Bellator featherweight Grand Prix. Albarracin added that his student is looking to solidify his status as the Bellator G.O.A.T. And then he will look to use the money to challenge any lightweight or featherweight on the planet.
Pitbull also shed light on his take on Michael Chandler‘s UFC debut. The Bellator champion added that Chandler’s win over Dan Hooker only showed the standard of fighters in the Bellator MMA promotion.
“Michael Chandler is representing Bellator in the UFC. He beats, (Dan) Hooker so easily. That shows how good we are and what we can do there. So it’s not about UFC or PFL, it’s about fighters. Everyone deserves that cross-promotion,” said Pitbull. (h/t MMA Weekly)
Patricio Pitbull vs Conor McGregor: will that fight ever happen?
Pitbull is one of Bellator’s finest. The 33-year-old Brazilian has an incredible professional record of 31-4. But, the idea of fighting McGregor may be a bit too far-fetched, as the UFC doesn’t entertain such cross-promotion contests.

Also, ‘The Notorious‘ looks almost certain to complete his trilogy against ‘The Diamond’ Dustin Poirier next. So, it remains to be seen if he and Dana White are going to entertain Pitbull’s offer.
