A lightweight matchup between two fighters in dire need of a win ended with the experienced fighter taking the win. UFC Jacksonville saw Drew Dober take on Alexander Hernandez and triumph.
The fight got off to a quick start, with both fighters exchanging a series of heated strikes. Hernandez forced Dober to the center of the octagon, circling the 31-year-old like a shark frenzied by chum.
Hernandez went in for a takedown one minute into the fight. However, Dober gets his back to the cage and finds his bearings soon enough.

Dober picked up the pace and started putting the heat on Hernandez. The effects of which are evident on Hernandez’s body.
The end of the first round witnesses applying a considerable amount of pressure on Hernandez. Effectively landing a series of combinations and forcing Hernandez on his backfoot.
Hernandez attempts to increase the heat on Dober but to no avail. And the first round ends with what seems like an eye poke on Hernandez.
Drew Dober dominates the fight
The second round seems to begin with Hernandez looking to exact revenge for the eye poke he suffered and he returns the favor. Following a brief respite to allow Dober to gather his bearings, the fight resumes with Dober pressuring Hernandez. However, this time Hernandez relies on a series of counters to try and force Dober back.
Neither fighter lands a lot but the was heavy nonetheless. Dober keeps Hernadez’s back to the fence throughout the fight.
Towards the end of the fight, Dober lands heavy shots forcing Hernandez to the cage yet again. Hernandez gets back at Dober with a series of takedowns.

However, the final takedown costs Hernandez heavily as Dober recovers in the blink of an eye and fires scores of shots that eventually bring an already hurt Hernandez down. So much so that Herb Dean has to step in to save Hernandez.
This fight marks the second win for Dober this year. Taking on Nasrat Haqparast in the Prelims at UFC 246. The American southpaw dropped Haqparast in the first round.

On the other hand, Hernandez recorded the second loss of his fresh career in the UFC. Conceding his first loss to Donald Cerrone back in January 2019 at UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Dillashaw.
