Current Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is perhaps the greatest talent the UFC has ever seen. He had been on a tear and nobody has been able to stop him. The only blemish on his record comes from via disqualification in a fight that he was winning. Jon Jones is quite a personality, inside as well as outside the octagon.

Jones has beaten the best of the best at Light heavyweight. Having cleaned out the division, he is running out of opponents to fight. The best possible move would be to go up a weight class to fight at heavyweight. Winning the Heavyweight title has always been on Jones’s mind.

Jon Jones has an upcoming fight against top UFC Light heavyweight contender Dominick Reyes. Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Jones talked about a potential move to the Heavyweight division. He said, “I feel like I really want to fight Stipe Miocic.”
“I feel like I could totally beat him, just based on his performances with ‘DC’, our speed differences, my fight IQ, my versatility, my faith and confidence,” Jones added.

Jones used Stipe’s past two performances against Cormier to justify his claims. Since Cormier was able to dethrone Stipe in their first meet, Jones believes that he can beat Stipe and become the Heavyweight Champion of the world. Stipe, who beat Cormier to recapture the Heavyweight gold is currently sitting out due to an eye injury. He is expected to face Cormier on his return.

However, Jon Jones can’t afford to think of Stipe yet. He has an upcoming fight against a dangerous opponent. Reyes is currently undefeated with a 12 fight win streak. He wants to be the first one to stop Jon Jones.

Should Jones beat Reyes, he is likely to fight Stipe Miocic at Heavyweight. So what does this mean for Daniel Cormier who is currently in line for a rematch? Will Jones beat Reyes and Stipe and eventually fight Cormier in a trilogy? Or will MMA math be proven wrong once again?
