After his bout with the boxing world champion, Floyd Mayweather, he made an enormous sum of money for an MMA fighter. Thus, his stock was getting bigger and better. During this time, former WCW world champion, Booker T, made an uncanny comparison of Conor McGregor with another huge celebrity in sports.
On Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast, Booker T praised Conor McGregor’s rise to the UFC. Also, he acknowledged how far ‘The Notorious’ has come in his MMA career and compared him with the absolute legend of another sport.

“It’s almost like Tiger Woods back in the day. They used to pay Tiger a million just to show up at tournaments,” said the five-time WCW champion. “With Conor, he’s gotten it to the point now, where [he can say] ‘If you want me to show up, pay me to show up.’”
The double-digit major holder, Tiger Woods, is one of the biggest names in golf. Likewise, Conor McGregor is in UFC. Thus, it appears Booker T was spot on with his reference.
Interestingly, McGregor has taken some digs at the golf legend in the past.

The golf great recently made a successful return to the golf course. The legend made this return after suffering severe injuries from a car crash. Subsequently, ‘The Notorious‘ who himself is suffering from an injury, appreciated the commitment of the 46-year-old.

Though in his tweet, McGregor mentioned Woods as a ‘friend’, the Irishman once trolled Tiger Woods with a cheeky post in 2017. However, it appears McGregor has moved on from the incident.
