UFC light heavyweight Thiago Santos spoke to Daniel Cormier after his UFC Vegas 38 main event victory over Johnny Walker. ‘Marreta’ came out with full force in round 5 and landed the better shots to ensure he picked up the win. In turn, Walker failed to capitalize on the momentum he had during certain points in the contest against Santos.
Chiefly, some fans were disappointed with the pace of the bout as many fans expected a more violent showdown. However, both men were wary of the power that the other man possessed, thus leading to a stand-off. With the win, Santos snapped a three-fight skid and will be keen to return back into the pool of contention.

It remains to be seen if Santos’ conservative approach to the fight will earn him any favors with the UFC boss. Dana White has traditionally not been particularly receptive towards main event bouts that don’t deliver on fast-paced action. However, Santos has delivered for the company on many occasions and will be a staple on the roster.
