

UFC featherweights Austin Lingo and Luis Saldana close out the preliminary card for UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs Gastelum. Both men are relatively young in their UFC careers and they are keen to kick start their journey the right way. Chiefly, the preliminary card closer is a prime slot when it comes to exposure on a UFC card.
The featherweight division has taken off in a big way and many consider it to be one of the best weight classes in the organization. From top to bottom, the division is stacked and both Lingo and Saldana will want a piece of the pie. It will take a series of impressive wins to enter the conversation, however, there is no time like the present.

‘Light Out’ Lingo is 1-1in the UFC and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jacob Kilburn in January 202. Before entering the UFC, he was an undefeated prospect who had racked up a lot of experience as an LFA fighter. Despite having just 9 professional fights, he believes he can scale the highest of highs in the UFC.

The Fortis MMA stand-out is one of many to come up within the circuit and avail of the benefits that the gym offers. He’s extensively worked on his cardio and striking efficiency at the Texas-based outfit and is sure to come prepared. Luis Saldana has about twice the experience he has and being comprehensive in his approach is paramount.
Saldana first appeared to UFC fans back in November 2020 after he scored a TKO over Vince Murdock at Dana White’s Contender’s Series. From there he has gone on to pick up one more win in the UFC against Jordan Griffin in April via UFC.

Luis Saldana is explosive at close range and he’s secured 9 knockouts out of his 15 career wins. The MMA Lab fighter is well-sized for the division and more importantly, knows how to utilize his assets to his advantage. Austin Lingo may have a tough time getting in of Saldana and the bout could end up being contested at a distance.
