The UFC returns to Vegas with a stellar Fight Night card headlined by featherweights Chan Sung Jung and Dan Ige. Both men are ranked inside the top 10 and are closing in on a title shot with a win. The featherweight division is currently held up due to the champion Alexander Volkanovski being tied with ‘The Ultimate Fighter 29’
‘The Korean Zombie’ and Ige are both pressure-heavy fighters and their five-round scrap is expected to produce fireworks. Neither man is particularly keen to take a step back and their willingness to push the pace makes them fan-favorite fighters. The aforementioned scrap is earmarked by fight fans as a ‘Fight of the Night’ contender right off the jump.

UFC Vegas 29: Chan Sung Jung vs Dan Ige
‘The Korean Zombie’ is coming off a rather lopsided UD loss to Brian Ortega in his last fight back in October. The fight was a number one contender’s fight that saw ‘T-City’ propel himself into a title fight against Volkanovski. Jung was on a tear prior to the loss and will be looking to regain his footing as one of the top contenders.
The 34-year-old’s resume speaks for itself in many regards and his legendary pressure has crippled opponents in the past. Not to mention, he’s slick on the ground as well, capable of pulling off Twisters and Brabo chokes. Dan Ige will have to be wary of stepping into the pocket against Chan Sung Jung as he’s extremely accurate in close range.
’50K’ Ige: Putting on a show
Dan Ige is 7-1 in his last 8 outings since 2018 and is easily one of the most improved fighters in the division. He knocked out Gavin Tucker in his last fight and showed that his defeat to Calvin Kattar wasn’t a major setback. He has the opportunity to jump into the number 4 spot if he pulls off the win against the Zombie.
‘50k Ige’ lives up to his moniker and collects bonus checks in most of his outings. He has to be wary of Chan Sung Jung’s counters and bolo uppercuts which have flattened opponents in the past. However, Dan Ige’s chin is tried and tested by the very best and he’ll back himself to come out on top.
