Curtis ‘Razor’ Blaydes will return to the octagon on November 28. He will clash with Derrick Lewis at the Main-event of a UFC Fight Night. Currently, the American Mixed Martial Artist is on a four-fight winning streak and would look to make it five in a row. His bout against Lewis is one of the most anticipated fights in the heavyweight division.

Blaydes’ Only Losses In The UFC Have Come Against Francis Ngannou

‘Razor’ Blaydes had 5 wins and 0 losses before the UFC signed him. He entered the UFC octagon for the first time in 2016 and faced Francis Ngannou on debut. ‘The Predator’ won the fight via a second-round doctor stoppage TKO.

Two years later, he battled Ngannou once again. The outcome was the same, with only the time duration changing. ‘Razor’ suffered a KO in just 45 seconds.

He will look to finish ‘The Black Beast’ to move closer to fight against Ngannou where he will attempt to right this wrong.

He Tested Positive For Consuming Marijuana

After his fight against Adam Milstead, Blaydes tested positive for marij***a. He finished Milstead in round two, but was deprived of his win as the fight was declared as a ‘No Contest’. The United States Anti Doping Agency did not penalize him with a suspension. However, he had to wait a while before getting his second UFC victory.

Blaydes received a scholarship from Northern Illinois University to wrestle. He put together an amazing record of 19 wins and just 2 losses. He went even ahead to win a National Junior College Athletic Association Championship. With 55% takedown accuracy and 6.98 average takedowns every 15 minutes, Blaydes is one of the finest wrestlers in the heavyweight division. In addition to this, he possesses insane power striking and uses the ground and pound to devastating effect.

Wrestling will be his most supreme weapon against ‘The Black Beast’ who has struggled against opponents who have taken the fight to the ground.

Blaydes has the most takedowns in the UFC heavyweight division

Though the audience perceives heavyweights as vicious strikers and one-punch KO artists. Curtis Blaydes is the only one in the most prestigious division of the UFC to stagger his opponents with his wrestling abilities. He has 59  takedowns in the division.
