UFC Fight Night Sandhagen vs Dillashaw is all set to be one of the best UFC events of the year. While most people are excited to see how the main event fight between Dillashaw and Sandhagen turns out, there are a plethora of various other good fights happening at the event. One such fight is the Featherweight clash between Darren Elkins and Darrick Minner.
The veteran Elkins is coming into the fight on the back of a singular victory after 4 losses. ‘The Damage’ defeated Luiz Eduardo Garagorri at the UFC Vegas 13 event via a 3rd round submission. Prior to this victory, Elkins saw one of the worst periods of his MMA career as the fighter did not win a single fight for almost 2 years.

Elkins’s current professional MMA record stands at (25-9). However, barring the last 2 years of his career, the fighter has always been a solid performer in the featherweight division. Elkin’s opponent for the night is the relatively younger Darrick Minner.

Minner would be much more confident, as he is coming into the fight on the back of two impressive wins. This will be Minner’s 4th fight in the UFC, having made his debut against Grant Dawson at UFC Fight Night 169. Minner’s debut did not go as planned as he lost the fight via a 2nd round submission.
However, the fighter came back strong and would love to get his 3rd UFC victory when he faces Elkins.
Darren Elkins vs Darrick Minner: Analysis
While Minner is coming into the fight with more form, he will have a tough time against Elkins. ‘The Damage’ is known for his ability to outlast his opponents and can take several hits and still keep going.
Meanwhile, Minner has won 22 out of his fight via submission and is an expert in that. Add to that, the fact that Minner has shown real striking prowess and has the ability to KO his opponent could worry Elkins.
However, as we have seen over the years, it takes a lot to submit Elkins. Therefore, Minner might have the work cut out for him when he faces ‘The Damage’ this weekend.
