Miguel Baeza, the newcomer in the UFC has managed to keep his short record spotless yet again. Only his second trip to the octagon wearing the UFC’s glove, Baeza dropped Matt Brown 18 seconds into the second round.
Their welterweight bout concluded the preliminary card VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. And what a way to cap things off for the night.
A high paced fight right off the bat, both fighters were quite active on their feet. Brown was looking to bag a hat-trick against Baeza tonight. However, it seems like his record will have to wait a little longer for another set of consecutive wins. Miguel Baeza, on the other hand, put his spotless record on the line.

However, Baeza found himself in some serious trouble well into the first round. A lethal combination from Brown left him weak in the knees, tipping the sales in Brown’s favor.
Brown knocked the mouthpiece out of his opponent’s mouth. Baeza was rocked by the combination but the referee came to his rescue pausing the fight to return his mouthpiece. Which seemed to allow Baeza some time to recover.
Brown’s success was rather shortlived. Considering how Baeza dropped him soon after and successfully turned the tables.
Baeza landed a series of heavy calf kicks throughout the first round, that Brown was certainly feeling.

The Caramel Thunder came into the second round with guns blazing, dropping a clean left hand. The UFC veteran made the mistake of rushing in that opened him up another huge left that did him dirty and knocked him out. Baeza immediately jumped in with a series of hammer punches before forcing the referee to step in.

A great comeback for the 27-year-old after nearly being knocked out in the first round. Successfully rocking Brown towards the end of the first round and wrapping things up by the second.

Baeza, training out of MMA Masters boasts of a record of 2-0 in UFC and 9-0 in MMA. He debuted against Hector Aldana back in October 2019 at UFC Fight Night: Joanna vs Waterson. On the other hand, the 39-year-old is now 2-4 in his recent fights.
