UFC Fight Night: Munhoz vs Edgar sees a light heavyweight match-up between two fighters who desperately need to get on track. Marcin Prachnio will square off against Mike Rodriguez in a bout that could determine their trajectory in the UFC. Both fighters have had a tough go in recent times and will look to earn ‘Fight of the Night’.
The division will see a new king ascend the throne with the scrap between Jan Blachowicz and Dominick Reyes. The belt was vacated by Jon Jones, who elected to move up to heavyweight and build a legacy in a new division. Chiefly, the weight class is wide open and a few good wins could catapult a contender into title contention.

UFC Fight Night: Marcin Prachnio vs Mike Rodriguez
The Polish fighter is 0-2 in the company. However, he had a good run in ONE Championship and built a 4-fight streak. His time in the world’s leading MMA promotion has left plenty to be desired, and he will be keen to stabilize himself. Additionally, his chin has been brought into question after suffering two back to back thunderous KO losses.
Prachnio should return to the facets of his game that brought him success early on. The 13-4 fighter has seemingly disregarded his patented side-step high guard defense, and he rushes in on shots. Moreover, given his ability to start fast, Marcin will focus on maintaining the same pace instead of gassing out.
Mike Rodriguez has had an equally undesirable start, going 1-2-1 in the company after his win on the Contender’s Series. Chiefly, his recent first-round KO loss to Da Un Jung sidelined him and he did not enter the cage since December 2019. Rodriguez has a tendency to succumb to high volume strikers and backs into the cage at times.

This trend sees him lose the plot after the second round, and it will be imperative to push the pace. However, he utilizes leg kicks effectively and incorporates straight punches to the body for variation. The fight is largely a pick-em fight, as both combatants have shown significant inconsistency as of late.
Prediction: Mike Rodriguez to claim a unanimous decision victory.
